Since you are applying for an Accounting Position, the preamble in your Accounting resume must be structured in such a way, that the reader gets interested in reading further. It should naturally present your Accounting Skills.
The Accounting function in any organization encompasses many activities. Simple book keeping; budgeting; ensuring that proper procedures are followed; preparing for audits; preparing Management Information Data; following up on Accounts Receivables, Reconciliation with Banks etc.
Your Accounting Resume should address all the areas that you are conversant with and supported by the extent of your experience in each area. The reader should be able to appreciate the depth of your knowledge and experience. This will be only possible with proper presentation of it.
How to go about writing the resume:
- Structure your thoughts.
- Present your reasoning for why you consider yourself to be the best person for the position.
- Your resume must project your qualifications and experience in the Accounting field in a structured manner.
- Highlight your achievements without using the first person ‘I’.
