Billing Supervisor Resumes Tips
Billing Supervisors, as the name suggests were originally responsible for checking of bills prepared by Billing Clerks, for accuracy for all goods and services supplied to customers and clients. With increased automation in the form of computers, this function increasingly is being taken over by Accountants and Book Keepers, but in some industries, it is still very much in vogue, notably in the Health Care Industry.
Not much higher education is expected and High School Graduates are quite welcome to this position, though additional qualifications always appeal to employers. Once you secure the position, you can study while working and acquire additional qualifications depending on what your career goals are. Commencing from a Billing Clerk, the first step in career progression is to become a Billing Supervisor and you can aspire to move into general accounting and finance or other fields that may interest you.
The single most important quality that an employer will look for in an applicant is the ability to pay attention to detail and the patience to check and recheck entries so that losses in the form of unbilled for goods or services do not happen. Since as Billing Supervisor, you will be expected to recruit, train and supervise Billing Clerks, leadership qualities and communication skills will be looked for as well.
