If you are applying for a position as a Chief Executive Officer, there is little that we can offer you in the form of a job description, as by now you would have either already been one or ready to become one after rigorous training and preparation.
A Chief Executive Officer, as the title denotes, is the Chief of a number of Executives who execute the strategic decisions taken by the owners of the business, usually represented by the Board of Directors. Strategic Decisions usually give a broad indication of where the organization should go, in what areas and for what purpose. Translating this into action plans, implementing the plans and achieving the goals drawn up in the Strategic plan is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Executive Officer finds and leads his people, that is other Executives to achieve the goals given to them and provides them with the resources needed to do so. Combining all these actions into a cohesive whole and delivering results expected is in short the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer.
Strategic Vision, experience in leadership skills, handling pressures etc are looked for in a Chief Executive Officer, and these aspects of your experience need to be highlighted in a Chief Executive Officer resume.
