Choreographer Resumes Tips
A choreographer is one who arranges the entire dance program of any stage performance where dancing is either a part or the whole presentation. A choreographer usually has risen from the ranks of dancers after years of learning, dancing and teaching.
A choreographer should be capable of interpreting themes, visualizing presentations of the theme in dance form to set music and organizing the performance through intense practice sessions. A choreographer is usually also responsible for arranging for appropriate costumes, backdrops etc to enable the whole to harmoniously blend in the presentation.
Besides the ability to dance and create dance performances, a high degree of creativity, imagination, and visualization are necessary to be a successful choreographer. Since group activity is involved and liaison with a number of other professionals is necessary to put together a successful production, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are called for.
While formal education is rarely important, it helps, but long experience as a dancer and teacher will normally be expected in a choreographer.
An effective Choreographer Resume will therefore present all these strengths effectively to get the reader to arrange for a personal interview.
