Having just successfully completed an assignment with a United Nations sponsored project in Africa to build an International Airport, seeking employment as a Civil Engineer/Project Manager for infrastructure projects, with a reputed Civil Engineering Company, in the USA. Willing to relocate to anywhere in the USA. Have considerable experience and expertise in the following areas of Civil Engineering.
Project Operations/ Execution: Execution of all construction and commissioning activities including providing technical inputs for methodologies of construction and coordination with site management activities. Leading team engineers and contractors to optimum utilization to complete the works within targeted period & as per standard safety as well as quality parameters.
Project Management; Anchoring project activities to ensure completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilization to maximize the output. Finalizing the requirements and specifications in consultation with collaborators / promoters. Participating in project review meetings for evaluating project progress. Preparing and maintaining MIS and other documents for use by the top management.
Quality Management System: Implementing & maintaining Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2000) at all project sites & regional office. Preparing / and bagging approval of Project Quality Plans for all projects sites. Preparing Audit Plans & conducting very keen & value added audits. Sharing best practices with all projects sites. Conducting Management Review Meetings at Regional Office with Top Management, feedback to project sites on MRM’s conducted by them. Technical Inspections at project sites. Providing the drive for continual improvement of the organizations performance & effectiveness and help put in place the required monitoring & controlling systems. Ready Mix Concrete and Prefab Operations: Overall control over operations & Business of Ready Mix Concrete. Responsible for Strategic Planning, Execution & Customer Satisfaction, Safety Standards Reports.Coordination with marketing engineers for order booking/new orders. Ensuring smooth operations of all plants, effective logistics control. Focus on customer satisfaction by providing timely & quality services. Leading team of engineers, effective utilization of resources. Development of successor & evaluation of employee appraisal.
Experience:
2004 to Mid 2009: Civil Engineering Consultant, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), (a specialized agency of United Nations), Technical Co-operation Bureau, for preparation of Airfield and Buildings procedures for Operational Readiness Programme of XYZ International Airport, ABC city, Africa.
During my assignment period from January 2004 to June, 2009, I had developed various airfield and buildings procedures and submitted to ICAO Project office at Johannesburg, SA and handed over to Airports of Africa Engineering organization for their references.
Throughout the assignment, demonstrated to be professional, responsible and diligent. Also maintained good relations with colleagues which comprised a multi-national team of ICAO aviation experts.
2000 to 2003: Civil Engineer, MacBride and Johnston, Civil Contractors, Houston Texas. Responsible for all Civil Engineering aspects of their Highways contract programs. Handled the repavement of 2500 miles of Highways within Texas during the period of employment with them. Also handled the construction of four Greyhound Lines Terminals within Texas.
1990 to 1999: Civil Engineer, Craig and Craig Contractors, Austin Texas. Contractors for the complete creation of two major universities in Texas. Joining them as Trainee Civil Engineer, straight from College, eventually became one of their five Civil Engineers. In that position handled a number of projects independently and to the fullest satisfaction of the employer and the clients. Cost and Time budgets were inevitably met and left them only to move to Houston for personal reasons.
