Columnist Resumes Tips
Columnists are writers who write articles for news papers, magazines and other publications. Columnists usually are given the benefit of their own name appearing as writers in the publication where their work is published. They usually become columnists after they have put in many years of experience as writers.
Most Columnists tend to specialize in one or a group of subjects and tend to be considered as experts in that subject and are invited to participate in panel discussions, conferences etc and gain a lot of recognition by these involvements. Their importance for the employer also grows with such recognition from the readership which nowadays tend to be multi dimensional in their choice of media to be kept informed. Local Columnists tend to write for local newspapers or magazines whereas the better ones are usually syndicated. The syndicates that employ the columnists handle many columnists and ensure that their writings find global readership by selling the columns to many publications throughout the world.
Many Columnists also end up writing books on the subject that they are most familiar with or fiction and this too adds to their prestige and employability.
Columnists, being such well known personalities, are therefore normally invited to become Columnists by publications and as such need not submit resumes.
