Consultant Resumes Tips
Consultants perform the function of advising people and organizations on how to improve an existing situation. Consultancies cover a wide spectrum of expertise starting from Accounting systems to Corporate Management.
What prospective employers of Consultants look for is proof of expertise in the area in which the consultant is sought after, and his experience and significant successes registered as a consultant.
Your Consultant Resume therefore, should highlight these areas of expertise, experience and significant achievements. Your academic and professional qualifications as a foot note are certainly important, but not as much as your professional achievements as a Consultant.
Since essentially what is looked for are financial gains arising out of implementation of ideas that a Consultant generates, specific instances of success in monetary terms, be they savings or improvement in turnover/profits etc are to be highlighted. There are however, areas like Human Resources where such quantification in monetary terms is difficult. In such cases, precise improvements in terms of morale, or numbers or efficiencies or systems and processes need to be highlighted.
If your expertise and experience also includes implementation, it will be a significant advantage which should not be overlooked.
