Having obtained a Certified Legal Assistant qualification from the National Association of Legal Assistants in 2002 following the enactment of the Business and professions code 6450, would like to return to California to resume a career as a Paralegal with a reputed Law firm of Los Angeles. Having five years of experience in California between 1995 and 2000 and nine years of experience in Florida, can offer extensive knowledge and experience in Corporate Law and Contracts. Would like to work in an organization which will encourage on going education and offer career prospects for promotion as Associate on acquiring a Juris Doctor Degree through part time course currently being pursued.
Experience:
2000 to 2008: Paralegal, Office of Chris Simonson JD, Miami FL. The Practice here is essentially of a civil nature with occasional criminal defense. Have assisted Mr. Simonson in all aspects of his practice as well as in drawing up legal documents, particularly contracts.
1995 to 2000: Paralegal, Offices of McLeod, Martins and Twaddell, Counsellors, Los Angeles, CA. Considerable experience in drawing up documents, preparing draft agreements, negotiations between spouses in divorce cases and contracts.
