Basically, a Sales Professional is of a pleasant nature, capable of clear communication and persuasive. He is tenacious, persistent and highly result oriented. These are character traits that since you seek a career in Sales, you would possess and as such need highlighting. In your Sales Resume, under experience, actual statistics should not be used as this is highly confidential and a prospective employer would appreciate your using percentages to talk about value and volume changes that you were responsible for besides any new initiatives that resulted in new businesses. Meeting sales targets, again expressed as a hit rate, awards won, significant contributions such as revival of dormant accounts, new products launched, etc all need to be presented succinctly, yet in an impressive manner so that the reader would want to seek an interview at the earliest.

If your Sales responsibilities included supervision of other Sales People, this too should be brought out in numbers, actual achievements of the group and your contribution to the success of the group must clearly be seen in your Sales Resume.
